Festival of the Arts

As a community we take pride in celebrating the 75th Anniversary of the Kenora District Festival of the Arts. Over this space of time there have been many changes and challenges in the community, as well, there have been changes with the Festival.

However, with strong spirit and a wonderful group of dedicated volunteers, teachers, and talented participants, we are able to celebrate this outstanding event. We confidently look forward to another 75+ years.

We are fortunate to have Knox United Church, with wonderful acoustics, the traditional appearance of the building makes the performances feel special, for both the performer and audience. In order to accommodate all performers we are able to use other venues including the Band room at Thomas Aquinas high school, and the wonderful Discovery Centre for the display of visual arts and Seven Generations for the Dance classes.

Over the years the Festival has added the Visual arts, and re introduced the Dance classes. In  all cases the strength of these events are due to the dedication and encouragement of the teachers.

It is very important, for us as a community to keep this valuable asset alive and well. The arts play a very important part in the fabric of our community, and deserve the support and encouragement of all of us.
