Worship

You are  welcome at Knox whether  young, old, newcomer or long time attender, Christian or just exploring. We are an affirming congregation of the United Church of Canada, which means that we pay special attention to the full inclusion of the LGBT2Spirit community and that we seek to be a welcoming and fully inclusive space.  We hope that you will join the conversation. We want to hear your voice and explore faith with you and your family. Your input is welcome always!  This year 2018-19 Knox is under renovations.  On the way to moving home to our original building,  we have experienced a detour.  During the month of August and certainly until Labour Day Weekend, our Sunday services will be held at First Baptist at 11 am Sunday mornings.  They have graciously offered space for us to hold our own worship and room for our children and youth to meet as well! We have hired Sarah Pyzer as our Youth and Young Families worker and our Minister Meg Illman-White will be splitting her time among pastoral care, administration, community partnerships and worship leadership.  This year worship is a chance for us to hear the voices of a variety of people inside and beyond Knox.  Its giving many an opportunity to explore their gifts, passions and interests and to offer themselves in the life of Knox as we grow together in the coming year. And it is a time when Knox is particularly grateful to our neighbours in helping us to relocate so many of our programs and ministries to their spaces.

OFFERING: Necessity or Barrier?

At Knox, we want you to find a spiritual home and to know that you are a valued part of the family!

There are many ways to offer yourself to the Knox community and we appreciate them all:  time, passion, money, ideas, service and energy
We want those living on low income to know that we care and that we are here for you.
We’re trying to change the passing of the offering plate which may feel like pressuring  our guests and members to give financially.
Knox is a place for everyone to be (as they are) to belong (as they are) and to become (full who they are created to be)
Knox depends on and appreciates financial support of those who are able, so a
“Knox box” is placed at the entrance into which you may place your offerings or
you may consider a PreAuthorized Remittance (PAR)
(forms available from Cheryl D in the office)
